The Seven Crystal Systems

The crystallographers have been able to divide 32 point groups and 14 space lattices into seven crystal systems. These seven systems are cubic, orthorhombic (or rhombic), tetragonal, monoclinic, triclinic, hexagonal and rhombohedral (or trigonal)

The properties of these systems along with the types and number of space lattices present in each of the seven crystal systems are given in the table ------
